About Kemer
Kemer stretches along a narrow coastal strip west of Antalya, where the Taurus Mountains drop steeply into the sea. From Beldibi and Göynük in the north to Çamyuva and Tekirova in the south, a chain of coves opens onto clear water in the shade of pine forests. Mount Tahtalı rises just behind the shore, so in spring you can swim in the morning and gaze up at snowy peaks in the afternoon. The coast from Phaselis to Olympos and the mountain itself lie within Olympos Beydağları National Park, and the eternal flames of Yanartaş, known as the Chimaera, add a touch of myth.
Kemer tours cover everything from sea to summit. Boats from the marina visit the bays of Phaselis and quiet pine-backed coves, a cable car climbs to the top of Mount Tahtalı, and Göynük Canyon offers hiking and swimming in cool pools. Jeep safaris and ATV rides head into Taurus villages, while evening trips continue via Çıralı to the Chimaera. Seeing Phaselis and Olympos on the same day, with swim breaks along the way, makes for a full and rewarding outing. On TurTalebi you can compare tours from Kemer's local firms and reserve the one you like securely by card.

All ToursTop Things to See
Ancient Phaselis
Said to have been founded by colonists from Rhodes, Phaselis has a pine-shaded main street running between three natural harbors, along with an aqueduct and a theater. A swim in the clear water of the ancient harbors is the perfect finish.
Olympos and Çıralı
The ruins of Olympos lie hidden among trees and vines in a wooded valley where a stream meets the sea. Neighboring Çıralı is a laid-back village with a long beach where loggerhead turtles nest.
Yanartaş (Chimaera)
On a hillside above Çıralı, natural gas seeping through the rocks has burned for thousands of years. Linked in antiquity to the myth of the fire-breathing Chimera, the flames are most striking after dark.
Mount Tahtalı Summit
A cable car from near Tekirova carries you to the 2,365-meter summit, where on clear days the Gulf of Antalya, the Kemer coast and the Taurus range spread out below. It is much cooler at the top than on the coast.
Göynük Canyon
Above Göynük, a trail winds through pine forest into a canyon where you can swim in cool rock pools. For more adventure, guided canyoning trips with helmets and gear explore the deeper sections.
Tekirova and Beldibi Bays
Tekirova to the south and Beldibi to the north are relaxed resort villages with pine-shaded pebble beaches and clear water. Çamyuva, between them, is a family-friendly village surrounded by citrus orchards.
Plan Your Trip
When to Go
Kemer's beach season runs from May to October, with June and September offering the best balance of sea and air temperature. July and August are hot and busy, which is when the cool summit of Tahtalı and the pools of Göynük become welcome escapes. Snow can linger on Tahtalı in April and May, and spring and autumn are the best seasons for hiking the Lycian Way. Turtle nesting season on Çıralı beach falls in the summer months.
Getting There
Kemer is about an hour's drive from Antalya Airport along the coastal road. Buses and minibuses run regularly from Antalya's main bus station to Kemer. Tekirova, Phaselis, Olympos and Çıralı are all reached from the same main road south of Kemer, although the roads down to Çıralı and Olympos leave the highway and wind down through the mountains.
Practical Tips
- Olympos and Çıralı share the same beach, so after exploring the ancient city you can stroll along the shore to Çıralı.
- Pack a light jacket for Tahtalı, as the summit can be cool and windy even in midsummer.
- Keep away from marked turtle nests on Çıralı beach and avoid shining lights onto the sand at night.
